Brokers Notes

When the owner of "Madame X" called me to sell her I told him there was a pretty good chance I sold it new, and it turned out I did. It was given to me because the local dealer was a Tug guy and I was the Sailboat guy, and it was love at first sight for me. I also happen to be a woodworker and of the opinion, there is not a lot of things of more natural beauty, then well kept teak and boy this boat has a bunch of that to love!!!

As you read the back story on the Lord Nelson, it is the story of Taiwan boat building, which was kind of like a Whack-A-Mole game, one day I'm 41 Far East here, next day I'm a 42 Coral Crusher across the street. In all seriousness the range of quality was pretty wide where the great majority were credible serious cruising boats, some world class, but nautical nightmares were part of the mix too. In the case of the Lord Nelson 35 & 41 it's lineage starts with the well respected Hans Christian and Tommy Chen, buy anyone's measure at the upper end of the scale.  Just like any builder you learn along the road, and Tommy brought a lot of refinements. As you read anyone's description of the Lord Nelson words "attention to detail" "superb craftsmanship" "strikingly beautiful" keep popping up, and that is what blew me away when I first seen this boat. So you take that construction quality and put it into the loving and very capable hands of "Madame X's" current owners and you now have an opportunity to own a very special boat.
