1988 Morgan Classic 41

location icon Saint Clair Shores, Michigan
Year 1988
Length 41 ft
Price
$75,900

When Catalina bought Morgan Frank Butler decided to make the Out Island 41 which was a great party platform, but not a great sailboat so he put on a new underbody with a cut-away skeg hung rudder, now the boat can actually tack, an interesting new concept for that model. He also did what he was one of the best at made it more efficient to build and far easier to afford. It was a ton of boat for the money and it still is. If you want to go "Coral Crushing" for under a $100k you need to give "Pumalin" a close look.

Brokers Notes

I was recently invited by the estate to get involved with "Paumalin" a 1988 Morgan Classic 41. My first inspection and first impression was it was a VERY nice boat that has been well loved. Both owners were engineers so the question of how and who made the boat so nice was answered. The recent owners were just retiring and getting ready to head south but his health failed and so goes the dream. The many recent upgrades have been well done so it is pretty close to ready to go, it is a great opportunity. One of the questions I had and haven't gotten to the bottom yet is the 4000 engine hours. To those that know Yanmar yes that a few hours with an average  life of 6000 hours, but with the care that two engineers have given it she is most likely good for another 4000. She is in the water and easy to see and test with lots of time to get ready headed South this year.
